Part 7, Second Half (Saul, Virginia) Summary

Saul watches a group of children playing in the nursery. The comet is headed towards the Oort cloud. The colonists have built a city on Halley's surface. Saul goes into his lab and examines the rock left to him by Ould-Harrad. The fossil does indeed come from a creature older than life on Earth by billions of years.

Lani is with Carl and their baby when Virginia visits them in holograph form. She recalls their passage near Jupiter on the way out of the Solar System. She realizes that she is a new phylum of humankind.
