Part 3: Chapters 40-44 and Part 4 Summary

Chapter 40. Valerie visits Dr. Hieler and suggests that she write something about the shootings to present to the school.

Chapter 41. Valerie visits the newspaper offices and speaks with Angela Dash, the reporter who wrote most of the stories on the Garvin High School shootings. Valerie asks Ms. Dash not to write anymore stories on the shooting, but finds her unresponsive to this request.

Chapter 42. Valerie goes to Jessica and shows her a plan for presenting the memorial for the shooting at graduation. Jessica is excited by the plan and agrees to help Valerie implement it. Together they go to the homes of the victims, both living and dead. During these visits, Valerie expresses apologies and gets a multitude of responses.

Chapter 43. Valerie sees Dr. Hieler one last time and tells him she finally knows who...
