Raina

Raina is the main protagonist of the memoir, and the memoir is told from her first person perspective. The memoir begins as she finishes fourth grade, and ends when she finishes fifth grade which is roughly assumed to be the ages of nine to 11. She is the older sister of Amara and Will, the best friend of Jane, and the nemesis of Michelle. She is also the same person as the author, as the author wrote this memoir about her life experiences at this age. Raina is caucasian with light brown hair, and often depicted wearing her hair back, and simple clothing with white sneakers. At school she is often with Jane, Nicole, and Dina and at home she is depicted often as spending time drawing her comics. Raina describes herself as “a nervous kid. Self-conscious. Shy.
