Chapters 44 through 52 Summary

In chapter forty-four, Will is taken to a residence and learns that it is Pistillo's sister's house. Pistillo says that his sister is a widow, that her husband was an officer, and that Ken was there when he was executed. Pistillo then says that Ken and John were working for McGuane and that Ken had been caught. He had agreed to turn specific information over to the police in return for a deal and that Julie, who was also involved in the illegal activities, was helping him. Pistillo says that the theory is that John found out and tried to kill both Ken and Julie to keep them quiet.
