Chapter 15 Summary

The next day, Russel runs into Jarred at school. Jarred apologizes for calling Russel gay, saying he saw the application that Brian turned into the start a gay-alliance club. Russel finds Brian and asks him why he turned in the club application. Brian says he did it so that Russel wouldn't be an outcast like he is. In the lunch room that day, Kevin tries to get Russel to sit with him at the jocks' table, but Russel decides to sit with Brian instead.

Chapter 15 Analysis

Russel realizes that Brian turned in an application to make it look like Brian really is the gay kid at school and to save Russel from being outed. By choosing to sit with Brian instead of Kevin, Russel is finally making the statement to the kids that Brian shouldn't be treated the way they are treating him...
