Chapter 21: The Accident of Nature

Max is checked out at the hospital and spends many hours at the police station telling the cops what happened. Loretta has a cracked bone in her neck but she will be okay. Iggy is worried to death about her. Max thinks that Iggy is a much better person that he thought he was. Gram insists that Max sleep upstairs for the time being—which is actually fine with Max. Gwen really gets after Freak about risking his life. She tells him his quests are over. She is worried about his breathing—his insides are growing but his outside is not. He is spending more time at the medical center. Fair Gwen still does not know the details of the robotic body transplant.
