Fox 8

Fox 8 is the narrator and protagonist of the story. The story itself is a letter that Fox 8 is writing to humans. Fox 8 used to live peacefully in a forest with other foxes. Fox 8 learned to speak and read the human language observing a human woman reading stories to her children. One day, humans destroyed the foxes’ forest and built a shopping mall on the location. The foxes began to starve due to a lack of food, and while the rest of the pack fell into complacent despair, Fox 8 resolved to do something. He and his friend Fox 7 snuck into the mall to gather food, and they were awed by the humans’ ability to create something as large and complex as the mall.

However, as Fox 8 and Fox 7 departed from the mall, they were spotted by two human construction workers who proceeded to attack them and kill Fox 7. Fox...
