Summary

Over the next few days, Fox 8 continued to roam. He saw other elements of human civilization, such as roads and other malls. Fox 8 found very little food on his journey. Fox 8 felt a deep sense of sadness and regret, as he believed himself responsible for Fox 7’s death. Fox 8 felt his general disposition becoming slightly darker. One day, while walking through a forest Fox 8 heard many animals speaking cheerfully about life, but Fox 8 did not feel cheerful, and he wondered if he ever would again. Fox 8 sometimes encountered human neighborhoods, and he marveled at the grandeur and many amenities of the humans’ homes. Fox 8 bemoaned the fact that humans were so capable and yet were also apparently quite cruel. One day, Fox 8 arrived at a forest that looked very inviting. Soon, Fox 8 smelled other foxes in the forest, and then he saw them...
