Summary

In Chapter 22, Will prepares for his transfer to another hospital. At the exit door, however, he is greeted by Stella, who asks him to accompany her to the nearby park to see the holiday lights. He warns her that this is a dangerous idea, but she insists. They arrive in the park and make snow angels, then slide out onto the ice of a frozen pond.

In Chapter 23, Stella receives a text message from Barb stating that she has been approved for a lung transplant, and that she must return to the hospital immediately to receive her new lungs. She realizes that, post-surgery, she will be even more susceptible to infection from Will, and feels that she must choose between him and the transplant.
