Book 2: Chapter 6 Summary

The Company walks for a long while to get as far away from Moria as possible before nightfall. Legolas sees the woods of Lothlorien, which is the fairest of all the woods of the Elves. The Company decides to enter the woods of Lothlorien for shelter and rest before they set out again and decide if they will go on to Moria or stop in Gondor.

Frodo hears the sound of feet but nothing is seen. When they arrive at the edge of Lothlorien, Legolas climbs a tree to get a lay of the land and then suddenly jumps down telling the group to not move or speak for a moment. The group hears soft laughter over their heads in the trees and a voice speaks in Elven tongue. The Company asks.....
