Book 2: Chapter 4 Summary

The group decides now that they must take the path that was suggested by Gandalf even though it is very dangerous and Aragorn feels it may be more than they can handle. The Fellowship is headed to the Mines of Moria, a place deep in the mountain where Dwarves at one time ruled and made weapons, but where it is now suspected many Orcs dwell. However, Gandalf feels that it will hasten their journey to pass under the mountain and keep them out of sight. Gandalf tells them they only need to find the hidden door to enter the mines and cut through the mountain.
