Book 2: Chapter 2 Summary

Frodo wakes early feeling well and renewed. This is the day of the Council meeting and much is to be decided and discussed. The meeting starts and many are in attendance, Elrond and several other Elf councilors, Gandalf, Aragorn, Glorfindel, Golin the Dwarf King and his son Gimli, Legolas son of the Elves of Mirkwood, and a tall man named Boromir, son of the Lord of Gondor. Elrond introduces Frodo to those he has not met, some of whom are there to seek counsel from Elrond on what they believe are other matters.

Elrond tells the attendees about the Rings of Power and some history of them. Elrond then tells them that Sauron, long ago, tricked the Elven Smiths into teaching him their secrets. With this knowledge, he was able to create.....
