Book 1: Chapter 10 Summary

Frodo, Sam, and Pippin head out of the common room and into a small parlor, while Merry heads outside for some air. When the three enter the room, they see that Strider is already there sitting there. Strider tells Frodo that he has some good advice for him for a price. Frodo becomes wary and asks what price is that. Strider tells him that he only wishes to come with them until he is ready to leave them, and Frodo is alarmed and tells him no. Strider is happy at this news and tells Frodo that it is the first good sense he's shown all night. Strider goes to the door and checks for eavesdroppers before speaking further. Strider tells the group that he was on the road when they came.....
