Chapters 20-23 Summary

Chapter 20. Angie and Jason join Mrs. Bittner for dinner. Mrs. Bittner offers them both champagne which Jason accepts but Angie refuses. After dinner Mrs. Bittner asks them questions about their interests, and then asks what they remember about their mother. Angie feels uncomfortable and when Jason notices this he says that he is exhausted, and that he and Angie should get to bed. Mrs. Bittner is disappointed, but bids them goodnight. Jason talks with Angie for a while in her room and then goes to bed. After what seems like hours Angie finally falls into an uneasy sleep.
