Summary

Chapter 11 – The first week of school, while Hermione is away and waiting to take the pregnancy text, she and her parents try as hard as possible to behave normally, even though, as she says in narration, that nothing is normal: words, Hermione comments, have changed meaning for the people around her as well. On the other hand, she says, her dad has started hugging her again; her mother has taken time off work; Polly visits as much as possible; and teammate Mallory is bringing homework. One day, though, Mallory also brings bad news.
