Chbapter 3 Summary

In chapter three, Bianca heads out for her first day of class. She sees Lucas and calls out for him to wait for her. When she catches up with him, he seems distant. She walks away from the encounter more discouraged than before and believes the connection she'd felt to be one-sided. Bianca enters her mom's classroom, her first class of the day, for history. A large boy sitting next to Bianca volunteers to answer the first question about the American Revolution. The boy's name is Balthazar More and Bianca notes that he's attractive and can almost make her forget Lucas. Bianca has already realized the students at Evernight are very competitive about their social lives, and now realizes that competitive nature will flow over into academics.
