Summary

In Chapter 11, Mike describes his first meeting with Greta in the hotel lobby. He greeted her in a way that he hoped was not awkward but said he was not good at acting. He listened as Greta told Ellie she already had a job despite the fact she was fired by Ellie’s family. Greta told them she had been to see their house and had even met Santonix. She admitted that he frightened her and seemed as if he could see through her.

Ellie mentioned she had never dreamed a house could be built as quickly as theirs was being built but Greta told her it was because she had money. Since Mike had been with Ellie he had begun to understand the difference between the way people with money treated it and the way people with little money treated it...
