Summary

Will works at the Chili Bowl until her old boss from Harpy’s comes in and asks her to come back. She is lonesome without Ellen and Bo, and Mitch does not fill the gap that they have created. She goes in later that night to accept her position back. Bo is happy to see her, and she feels relief being back at the diner. Just after Willowdean returns, she finds a “cherry-flavored olive branch” waiting in her locker (224). It is a sucker, Bo’s favorite, that he has left as a sort of white flag. Will happily accepts the truce and is glad to be back. She gets home that night to find Bekah on her couch because Rosie is doing dress alterations. She learns that Bekah plans to ask Bo to be her escort to the pageant.
