Summary

Will is taken aback by the Miss Teen Blue Bonnet pageant form hidden among Lucy’s things. It takes little time for this blank form to serve as her inspiration for joining the pageant herself. She considers why Lucy would not enter the pageant if she really wanted to do it and decides that “There are so many things that Lucy never did. Not because she couldn’t, but because she told herself she couldn’t and no one made her believe otherwise” (142). Will is surprised when shortly after deciding to enter, Millie Michalchuk comes up to her, praising her decision. She is slightly proud that she is an inspiration to someone like Millie.
