Charleston, June 1767

Fergus, Jamie Fraser and his wife Claire, stand on a crowded street in Charleston, South Carolina on a hot day in June 1767. They are there to witness Jamie's comrade, Gavin Hayes, led to the noose. Jamie calls out "Gabhainn! A charaid!" in their native Scottish tongue and Gavin seems a little stronger in his last moments.
