Chapter 6 Summary

Menolly wakes early the next morning and decides to use the extra time to take a bath and wash her clothing. Menolly only has two sets of clothing, the nice clothes she has worn daily since her arrival, and a many-patched set that she wore while living in the caves. Menolly puts on her old clothes and goes downstairs to breakfast only to have Dunca yell at her for her inappropriate attire. Menolly turns the conversation around, accusing Dunca of not telling her about Master Domick's message the day before intentionally. While Dunca is distracted by this line of discussion, Menolly sneaks away to feed her fire lizards. Afterward, Menolly goes up to the Masterharper's room to check on the eggs before going to Master Domick's for her morning session. There Menolly and Master Domick are joined by Sebell and Talmor.
