Book 1 Weyr Search - Chapter 6 Summary

Lessa runs from the Hall after being sent for the birthing woman. She's angry. After using her powers on Fax and the bronze dragonman, they should have fought. The whole situation makes her wonder if all honor in Pern is dead—smothered by the grass. Part of her even blames Lady Gemma for going into labor. If she hadn't groaned at that moment, they would have fought. In the distance, the bronze dragon lets out a weird croon, but she silences him with her power the same way she controls the watch-wher.

She knocks on the door of the birthing woman's home announcing she's needed. Lessa warns the woman to hurry, that the child to be born will be male and Ruatha's Lord. Lessa hurries the woman into the Great Hall. F'lar points urgently...
