Chapter 27 Summary

Mina and the professor's journey is a long one. Along the way, Mina falls into a deep lethargy. She eats nothing and sleeps most all the time. Eventually, she revives somewhat, but Van Helsing is very uneasy about her condition. One night as the two are camped out near the castle, a strange swirling of snowflakes and mist descends upon them. From this mist, the three vampire women that Harker encountered at Dracula's castle materialize. They call to Mina but are unable to harm her or the professor, who earlier placed a ring of holy wafers around them for protection.

Meanwhile, the rest of the party catches sight of a band of gypsies driving a wagon from the riverside that carries the Count in his wooden box. Harker and Arthur debark from their boat.....
