Summary

It is October. Middle-schooler Greg Heffley wonders if his life is secretly a television show, and so he begins to live as if this is the case. He talks to mirrors, imagining cameras are hidden behind them, and announces his return when he comes out of the bathroom. He also wonders if the events of his life are real or scripted, because Greg believes he should have a girlfriend and a motorcycle – neither of which he has. Greg hopes to at least cash in on the show when it is done by doing things such as coming up with personal catchphrases like BITE MY BISCUITS. Greg also considers he is simply living an ordinary life, but also imagines he is being watched by aliens using flies as drone cameras.
