Summary

Chapter 22

Grace and Billy head upstairs to Jesse’s apartment. Rayleen has cut and blow-dried Billy’s hair, and he now looks like a regular person. Jesse performs the smudging ceremony, burning white sage. Jesse smudges his neighbors as well. The next day, Jesse goes along with Grace and Rayleen to see if they can get Billy out of the apartment for longer. They head down to the school, and Billy makes it all the way there. He then turns around and charges home, with Jesse in tow. Rayleen apologizes for being grouchy with Grace the other day and explains she just doesn’t want to be in a relationship yet.
