Summary

Ana eventually decides to run away from Juan and return to her family. She takes all of the money she can find in the apartment, and she decides to go to the airport to buy a ticket back to the Dominican Republic. However, in the nearest subway station, she becomes disoriented. César sees her and persuades her to stay in New York. He says the best thing she can do for herself and her family is stay in New York and eventually help her family immigrate to the United States. Suddenly, Ana faints, and César brings her to a hospital. A doctor runs some tests and informs Ana that she is pregnant.
