Summary

Chapter 8 is titled “The Fetcher in the Sky.” Petey is trying to convince Big Jim that he is not Grampa when the see Sarah's report on television. Big Jim puts on his Commander Cupcake disguise and offers a lengthy explanation of his super-hero identity. Petey says none of that is helpful because they are locked in a jail cell. Big Jim removes a poster from the wall to reveal a secret tunnel. In the city, Dog Man, the Chief, and Sarah grab dip nets and prepare to capture the tadpoles. The Fair Fairy says she will never give up. The Chief tells Dog Man to “stop the tadpoles” and the Fair Fairy tells the tadpoles to “Stop the Dog Man” (142).
