Summary

Chapter 8 is titled “The Old Man and the Sea-Food Crackers.” Grampa is measuring everything in the house. Lil' Petey tries to explain why he is making a comic book, but Petey's dad is snappy and rude. Petey offers sea-food crackers and Grampa gobbles down a lot, then spits and complains about them. Lil' Petey chastises him, saying it was not nice. Grampa says he has “never felt any love for that hothead” (130). Lil' Petey tries to talk about showing love but Grampa shouts at him. Meanwhile, Piggy is traveling with the moth named Daryl and decides they could possibly be “an unbeatable team” (133). Daryl agrees they can be superheroes and that they should be called the Friendly Friends. Piggy thinks it is a stupid name. Dr. Scum has created an entire “army of burgle balls” (135) and sets them...
