Chapter VI, pg. 551-594 Summary

Tak tells Kidd that he won't be going to the party. He is out trying to find a dress for Lanya. Tak mentions that he was up early and saw the fires again. They find the Maitland Systems Engineering Warehouse where Mr. Richards worked and walked in. They roam around looking at the contents of the different cartons. They help themselves to what they want, including material that can be used to make a dress for Lanya. The two men leave the warehouse and go to Tak's for a drink.

Back at the nest, Kidd breaks up a fight between some of the scorpions. When Kidd goes outside he finds June who is looking for her brother Edward. Kidd brings her inside the house so she can look at the people. She finds her brother. June says...
