Chapter V, pgs. 385-443 Summary

Kidd wanders the streets wondering if he is hallucinating. He is terrified that he is mad again. He wanders into Denny who tells him that everyone has moved around. They go into the house to Denny's room where Kidd spends the night. He awakens and goes out to talk to the scorpions. The scorpions have found a warehouse of coffee so there is hot coffee for everyone.

Lanya arrives and wants to talk to Kidd so they go to Denny's room. She has his notebook. Denny and another girl come in and they have a group sex session. Kidd awakens before the others and begins to write in his notebook. When Lanya awakens they sit and talk. Denny shows Lanya the items he has found when robbing various stores and houses.

When Lanya and Kidd go outside...
