Scone College

Scone is Paul Pennyfeather's college at Oxford University from which he is expelled at the novel's beginning and to which he returns at the conclusion.

Llanabba Castle

This is the mock-medieval, former country house in South Wales that houses the Llanabba school for boys, where Paul is hired as a schoolmaster, after his expulsion from Scone.

Mrs. Roberts

Mrs. Roberts is the name given to the village pub located not far from the Castle.

King's Thursday

King's Thursday is the seat of the Earls of Pastmaster, owned, due to the deaths of her husband and brother-in-law, by Margot Beste-Chetwynde. Despite protests by the community, Margot has King's Thursday leveled and rebuilt from an untouched Tudor structure to an ultra-modern home, by the young architect Otto Silenus.
