Part 3, Chapter 7 Summary

From Cliff Place, Paul travels to Margot's villa in Corfu, where he stays for some time. One evening, walking the streets and musing on the peculiarity of being dead, he meets Otto Silenus. Probably because he is out of money, the young architect has decided to marry Margot after all, but Paul informs him that he is too late. Margot is already married to Sir Humphrey Maltravers, who has changed his name to Metroland. Silenus expresses surprise at seeing Paul out of prison and even more surprise that Paul did not enjoy his period of incarceration. Silenus had believed that such a life would suit Paul well. Paul tells Silenus that he plans to return to Oxford to study theology. Placing his own stamp of approval on this plan, Silenus departs.....
