Part 1, Chapter 6 Summary

The end of his first week of teaching finds Pennyfeather fairly content with his situation. Pennyfeather expects neither too much nor too little from the boys and they are pleased to oblige. Though not at Llanabba by choice, Paul has settled in admirably when the arrival of a letter from Arthur Potts, one of Paul's four friends at Scone, brings his past life into comical collision with his present.

Potts informs Pennyfeather that a member of the Bollinger Club, Alastair Digby-Vaine-Trumpington, recently paid him a visit to offer Paul 20 pounds in reparation for the incidents the night of the Club party.
