Summary

Mr. Burnaby and one of his friends is standing outside the post office when a beautiful girl steps out of a limo. The girls goes into the post office. The two men talk about how she is American girl that recently bought a house in their country and plans on tearing it down and rebuilding it. Mr. Barnaby talks about how she is rich and good looking.

Linnet Ridgeway and her friend Joanna are talking in her new house. Linnet is the rich American girl who tore down the house and rebuilt it. One of the conversations the two women are having is about Linnet's jewels. Joanna mentions that she must be afraid of having them stolen.
