Act II Summary

When David wakes up, he is in the hospital. Dot and his mother are asking him if he remembers who shot him. When he is released from the hospital, Dot and David's mom take him to Hulligan's Wharf, which is an island, to rest. When they check into the estate, the owner Mr. Hulligan says Mrs. Boring's cousin, Mrs. Capon, her daughter Iris and Iris's husband have already checked in.

On the island, there is no communication with the mainland. Iris turns out to be 16, with a husband who is just as young as she is. In the middle of the night, there is a thunderstorm and Iris tells her husband, Man, that she feels like something bad is going to happen.
