Scotch Heaven, Pages 141 through 200 Summary

On the day of the dance, Davie Erskine helps Angus clean up the school room. Angus dances with Anna and it's quickly obvious to everyone that there's an attraction there that will likely lead to marriage. Angus soon goes to visit Anna at her home, making his intentions public. There he finds that her parents are something less than welcoming, especially her mother, who is the more outspoken of the pair. As spring arrives and school is about to be dismissed for summer, Anna says that she is going to travel with her parents to work for Isaac Reese. Angus asks her to marry him then, but she says that they haven't known each other very long and that she wants to wait until the fall to give him an answer. They have a sexual encounter as the time for her...
