Chapters 3-4 Summary

Alone at home that night, with thoughts of Robyn Naismith on her mind, Scarpetta looks through the file of search results her computer administrator sent her. After reading through the file, Scarpetta checks for any memos or other messages that need her attention and finds a file she did not create. The file is small, containing only one sentence. Scarpetta calls her niece in Florida, a computer expert, and asks her how the file could have appeared on Scarpetta's secure directory. Lucy runs Scarpetta though some commands and comes to the conclusion that someone broke into Scarpetta's directory either with her password or using an administrator's password.
