Summary

In Chapter 14, Tsukuru arrives in Finland. He makes it to his hotel and settles in, then calls the number Sara gave him for Kuro's house. No one answers and a man's voice speaks in Finnish. Tsukuru hangs up without leaving a message. He worries that Sara might have been right when she said the family might not be home, and might even be away on vacation. He telephones a travel agent named Olga that Sara said would help him with anything he needs.

When Olga arrives, Tsukuru has her listen to the voicemail recording. She says the family has gone to their summer cottage and won't be back until August. She has a telephone number for the cottage.
