Cold Comfort Farm

The central location in the novel, Cold Comfort Farm is a dairy farm in Howling, Sussex that has been in the Starkadder family for generations. It begins as a dreary, forlorn, and rather sinister place, but after Flora's tidying up it becomes as cheery and blossoming as its inhabitants. The buildings are laid out in an octagonal shape, though not much of the original architecture exists due to many generations of royalty tearing down and rebuilding it to suit their whims.

Mouse Place
