Chapter 18 Summary

When Jack awakens, he sees Nan asleep and smiling. They are at Eve's cottage. Nan persuaded him this was the perfect place. She tells him how much she wants him. He thinks she is better than the Welsh girl, and he thinks it was her first time. They have been to the cottage three times. He has not talked to Benny because he does not know what to say.

Heather wants to be in the Easter play at school. Mother Francis reminds her that she promised Simon that Heather would not be involved in religion at the school. Heather says that it is just a play. Mother Francis asks who will tell Simon. Heather says they should not contact him and says that Simon is in England looking for a wife.

Nan and Jack go.....
