Chapter 17 Summary

Emily finds Nan lying in bed. She asks her daughter how she is, and Nan says she is fine. Emily notes the troubled look on Nan's face and asks if Simon is bothering her. Nan says no and that they have a date tomorrow night. Emily wonders what is bothering Nan. Nan knows the test at the hospital was not needed. Her period is seventeen days late, and she is pregnant. Although Eve really liked Nan in the beginning, she has started to resent her since Nan started dating Simon. On the phone, Heather tells Eve about the convent and how superstitious everyone is. Heather shares that Simon spends the night with Nan. Eve is certain they have sex. Eve knows Simon will never take Nan to his home. Meanwhile, the pregnancy test.....
