Chapter 13 Summary

Fonsie wears an unusual suit to communion, and Mrs. Healy whispers to the Hogans that he is adding blasphemy to his wrongdoings. Annabel thinks that Mrs. Healy is overreacting. She is jealous of Mario and Peggy for having family members in their businesses and disappointed that no relationship is developing between Benny and Sean. She knows that Benny is not praying by the look on her face. Annabel suspects she is in love. Sean Walsh, meanwhile, is kneeling. In the past, he went to his family, who he never talks about, for Christmas. This year, he convinced Mr. Hogan to stay open later on Christmas Eve. The late closing ensures that Sean has to stay at the Hogans' for Christmas. Benny has to force herself to be nice to Sean.
