Christopher

Christopher is a white mouse who is born with three brothers and one sister, Anna. The fact that only his sister is ever named symbolizes the importance of his relationship with Anna.

Christopher is very smart and learns a lot from his travels as a pet and then as a mouse on the run. He learns a lot about people and about himself, ultimately learning that life as an escapee is difficult for a domesticated mouse.

Christopher is obviously interested in writing since the book is his first-person diary. He is a budding poet, too. His diary features a number of poems he has authored.
