Daniel "Day" Altan Wing

Daniel "Day" Altan Wing is the first protagonist of the novel and roughly half of the chapters are narrated from his point of view. He describes himself as a “sixteen-year-old-most-wanted-criminal-turned-national-hero” (3), referring to his past in which he worked in opposition to the Republic before shifting his support in favor of the progressive new Elector.
