Chapter 11-12 Summary

In chapter eleven Vicki realizes the severity of the situation and sits down to cry for a moment quietly before heading back to Tony and Blankenhagen. Once she returns she has Blankenhagen tell her what to do to help him before he passes out. Once Vicki has explained their situation, she states that their best chance is to dig through the earth and Tony agrees. They begin digging a small hole and they soon realize that the air is becoming hot and harder to take in. Vicki is in better shape than Tony and quickly takes his place in the small hole to move the dirt. Tony looses consciousness and Vicki continues to dig. After a period of time she looses consciousness but soon wakes up. When she passe out she fell forward and broke through the last bit of barrier...
