Camps

Emma and the other characters spend time at two of several camps that have been established by Will and other characters who are organizing a rebellion to fight against the new world order.

Emma's Farm House

The book opens with Emma leaving her secluded farm house, where she spent her childhood with her father and grandmother. She and other characters return to this location at other points in the book. It is something of a safe house for Emma and contains secret stores of supplies such as canned food and weapons.

Emma's Cabin

Emma spends most of her time at a secluded cabin deep in the woods. It was built by her father, who was a survivalist.

Town

Early in the novel, Emma goes to one of the few remaining towns to get medicine for Jake's infected leg wound. The town is walled off for protection and inhabited...
