Summary

Chapter 17

In Chapter 17, the group arrives at Emma’s farmhouse and finds it deserted now. Suddenly shots ring out and Serge attacks Emma and prepares to rape her, but Leo appears and kills him. Anna, Will and Emma kill the other men who are with him and Will is impressed at what a good shot his sister is. Emma asks Leo about Meg and is disturbed by the anxiety he displays so they load up with supplies and head for the camp, where they find that Meg has entered a sexual relationship with a man named Eric, who is about twice her age. Emma attacks him even though Meg says he is her boyfriend and tries to stop her.

In Chapter 18, Meg is furious at Emma but eventually understands that the relationship was wrong. Emma and Mary take Sarah to the lake...
