Terry asks Buddy to dive for him and search the hull of his boat as well as the surrounding piers, and then he lets Graciela drive him to the Times building for a meeting she has with Clint Neff to discuss Gloria. Neff isn't much help, but they walk through the building he stumbles on the connection that binds them all. He leaves, heading for the car and explains his latest epiphany to Graciela. Both victims gave blood and Terry is sure they share a rare blood type. He tells Graciela that the killer learned from Cordell and Kenyon, finally successful with Gloria. Jaye calls to tell him his prediction is correct and the FBI are trying to take over the case. He calls Amelia to find out James' blood type, but she isn't home.
