Summary

One of the aliens insists that Valerian and Laureline change clothes, saying they “must be humble to serve the master” (11). Valerian is horrified at the ragged clothes they are forced to wear. Sul says he is from Manadul, which is in the Cygnus Constellation. The workers make specific preparations and then set sail again. Four panels on page 12 show the landscape as they travel toward their destination. The images show plants, swamps, and narrow waterways before arriving at a port. They pick up heavy loads and begin walking. Valerian asks how long they continue to work like this. Sul says they work until the Master has enough food, then they have time for a rest before starting the process again.
