Parts 27-28 Summary

Tristan hears a familiar-sounding voice on the upper deck of the ship. While the slave could not understand the words, the man's voice had a familiar inflection and spoke the same language. The other slaves awoke and Tristan told them of the arrival of the unknown man.

Beauty hopes that there is still a chance for rescue. The slaves muse about the goings on up above. Soon, a Lord comes to the slaves' room and takes note of each slave. The Lord reports that the pirates have good taste in choosing slaves and that the pirates have paid the Lord for them. Tristan objects, asking the Lord to save them from the pirates.
